Why was I removed?

It seems that LJ's being a whore again and rather than retype everything up, I'm going to paste an entry here that I wrote earlier in the week:

When people delete me--particularly people who added me first and requested to be added--it really, really irritates me.

I suspect the primary reason for deletion is that I don’t comment enough. There are a number of people who don’t regularly comment on my entries, but I don’t remove them from my friends list. I still feel a special sort of “closeness” to them by reading about their personal lives and feelings daily.

So, it’s hard not to be a little offended by being removed after emotionally investing yourself into a person’s life.

I know that some people lead busy lives, and I completely understand. Anyone who reads my journal knows that I’m constantly stressing out over my workload. My busy life sometimes makes it difficult for me to comment on entries. Sometimes, I’m not sure what to say at all. But because I suffer through the same difficulties, I don’t expect someone else to be able to comment frequently on my journal. I know people lead busy lives. But when I do have the time, I reciprocate and comment.

And despite the enormity of people on my friends list, I read every one of your entries.

There, are, of course, exceptions. This weekend, I was at [livejournal.com profile] shakespeario’s uncle’s house for Mardi Gras and I didn’t have the time to catch up on your entries. But on a daily basis, you can be rest assured that I’m reading your journal entries--even if no one else is.

If you made a friends cut entry this weekend (Thursday-Monday), I wasn't around. I was in New Orleans staying with some friends for the Mardi Gras holiday. As far as the other time, well, I missed it. No excuses there. As for not commenting on your entries in particular, it's because I don't know what to say. Most of them are regarding Avatar or directed to specific individuals, and being that I'm not those people or in your fandom, there's not much that I can say. It doesn't mean that I'm not reading. I don't expect anyone that's not in the One Piece fandom to comment on my entries wibbling about One Piece, and I certainly don't base the level of my friendships on how many comments I get on an entry.

I did notice that you kept [livejournal.com profile] step_rightup on your friends list--which is your perogative, of course--but did she comment on your friends cut?

And just because my mood isn't constantly "happy" doesn't mean that I'm not. I'm okay with life right now and the last "extreme" event that happened in my life happened about a month ago. Why didn't you remove me then?

It's clear that I valued our friendship more than you did, if you're going to remove me because I don't comment or because I have problems.

Either way, nice knowing you and good luck with your life.
